I’m a LUCKY girl. There’s no two ways about it. I have a full life. I’ve always been fortunate in the things Ive been able to accomplish and with the chances and opportunities that have come my way. For some reason even as a kid I had good luck. My mom would enter me in raffles and draws, because according to her I was the LUCKIEST member of the family. I even won a giant Nutcracker statue from the local grocery store when I was ten.

As I got older, and as my life changed…my LUCK changed. I didn’t SEE it happen – I felt it when I met my better half Chad.

I have a passion for photography. I’ve been LUCKY enough to live my passion as a freelance professional photographer since my days in College.

Two and a half years ago I felt like the LUCKIEST woman in the world when I stood on top of an Albertan hoodoo looking down at my best friend on bended knee with a diamond ring in his hand.

Then a year and a half ago as I fought back tears walking down the aisle towards my future – the man standing in front of me in his charcoal grey suit and goofy grin, I thought….wow I am BEYOND LUCKY.

Today, only a few months away from celebrating our two year anniversary I thank God for my LUCK every minute of every one of the 2163 days we’ve been together.

Chad. My husband. My best friend. My LUCK.

January 28th is the “Bell Let’s Talk Day” across Canada. Let’s break the silence and remove the stigma. Please take a second and read the following campaign I’ve put together in conjunction with http://www.kickstarter.com.

“Western Wild” – A Bold, Colorful and Adventurous Coffee Table Photo Book in support of the Mental Health Association of Canada.

Imagine a place where horizons of golden wheat fields give way to rugged coastal mountains with snow capped peaks. Where miles of open plains roll into zig zagging narrow roads built meticulously into the sides of mountains and cliffs alike. A place so diverse it awakens the need for adventure and expedition!

I will be travelling from the edge of Manitoba to Canada’s most western province, British Columbia. The photographs that will comprise this body of work will encompass the vast landscapes, wildlife, culture and “sights unseen” throughout the end of summer, fall and early winter of 2014.

I will be capturing everything from the Orca Whales and booming waves of the West Coast to the Black Bears and towering trees of the Boreal Shield.

Canada has incredibly diverse cultural and geographic locals; this fun, bold and colorful coffee table photo-book will focus on those less published and less travelled.

I will be travelling by foot, car, float plane, boat and yes even horseback into the most beautiful of places, untainted and preserved by nature. Join me as I embark on an adventure of a lifetime!

How will the funds be spent?

-Publication of the first set of hardcover, limited edition photo books

-A polzarizing and neutral density filter, specific to High Dynamic Range landscape/wilderness photography.

-Costs associated with black and white film and print developing

-Travel costs, including transportation, permits and all required documentation
